Phosphate Ore Ball

The mining process of phosphate ore deposits includes prospecting, exploration, mine development and ore exploitation. The ore extraction could be underground or open pit which is the most common method. The main phosphate rock extraction stages in open pit are drilling, blasting, excavating, loading, haulage and dumping.

Phosphate fertilizer in its liquid form can be easily applied to fields and crops. The process by which phosphate rock is converted to phosphate fertilizer involves treatment with sulfuric acid; the result is often called "super phosphate."This treatment with sulfuric acid draws the phosphates from the raw ore and creates a water soluble form.

CONCLUSIONS The following major conclusions can be drawn on the basis of this work: Ball wear was found to increase linearly with time in the grinding of the phosphate ore for the two types of balls used in this study, namely, HCLA cast steel and high chrome cast iron. Ball wear showed a sharp increase for wet grinding over that for dry grinding.
